Juneau - Mt Roberts Tram and Hike
We had a long layover in Juneau so we road the tram to the top of Mt. Roberts and went on a little hike. You can see all of Juneau-Douglas from the top. The cram was crowded and it was the hottest day of the year but don't let that deter you. Very few of the people from the five cruise ships that were in town seemed to venture onto the trails. Most were content to hang out in the gift shop/museum/restaurant. Go hike! |
Butte Climb
Lazy Mountain - 1st time
My dear friend Amber convinced me to do this hike with her. We approached the mountain via the Morgan Horse Trail to Lazy Moose to Lazy Mountain. There is nothing Lazy about this hike! It took us 8 hours round trip. There are people who can run it in one. Once you leave Lazy Moose, there are many false summits, and it just keeps on climbing. |
This is the look you make when you get to the top and are standing on a ledge. A little scared to take the selfie as I don't want to fall and heights aren't my thing. I wish someone would have told me my headband was upside down. If you look at the picture on the left you can see the boys in orange waiting for us. I think I need to put this on my list for every summer, but it is definitely an all day event! |
Blueberry Knoll
Hatch Peak
I left with the intent of climbing just to Angel Bowl but ran in to my friend Emily on the trail who encouraged us to continue the trail to the top. It gets a little steep and rocky at one point, but it is really just a small section. Once on top, I felt like I could have scrambled the ridge line forever. Some of the best views I have ever seen are off of this trail which will quickly become one of my favorites. |
